A 6-day traverse of Mount Kenya, ascending via the Chogoria Route and descending via the Sirimon Route, is considered by many to be the best way to experience the mountain. This itinerary combines two of the most scenic and diverse routes, offering a comprehensive and rewarding trek. It provides a more gradual ascent for better acclimatization and a chance to witness a wide variety of landscapes, from lush forests and alpine lakes to dramatic valleys and open moorlands.
Ascent Route: The Chogoria Route, on the eastern side of the mountain. This route is known for its stunning scenery, including the Gorges Valley, Lake Michaelson, and waterfalls.Descent Route: The Sirimon Route, on the northwestern side of the mountain. This route is drier, offering excellent views of the main peaks and a different kind of scenery as you descend.
